About
Why HOARebel exists
Homeowners' associations hold real power — they can fine you, place liens, and dictate what you do with the home you own. Most homeowners face that power without ever reading the statute that's supposed to keep it in check.
HOARebel closes that gap. We turn dense state law into plain-English articles so you can tell when your board is following the rules and when it isn't — and we point you straight to the official source, so you're never just taking our word for it. We're not anti-HOA. We're pro-homeowner, and we believe associations should be held to the same standard they hold their members to.
What we are
A free, growing library of plain-English articles and state-by-state guides — covering HOA fines, records requests, hearings, meetings, dues, assessment liens, and homeowner defenses, with dedicated guides for states across the country. Every legal point is grounded in the statute that governs it, with the official text quoted and linked so you can read it for yourself.
What we are not
We are not a law firm, and nothing here is legal advice. Our information is based on publicly available state law — which changes over time and rarely fits any one situation perfectly. For guidance on your specific circumstances, a licensed attorney in your state is the right resource.
